The Crime Prevention Unit was designed to help the local community, both residents and businesses, keep from becoming victimized by crime.

The Crime Prevention Unit is also responsible for doing a security review of building plans for new development in the city, as well as approval of permits such as: dance, bingo, Alcohol & Beverage, massage, special event permits, and soon, CCW permits.
