On December 2, 2025, at 3:40 p.m., Livermore Police responded to a welfare check at a home on the 1000 block of North P. Street. Officers located a 55-year-old male deceased inside the residence with apparent stab wounds. The victim had last been seen on November 28, 2025.
The Livermore Police Criminal Investigations Bureau assumed the case and through investigative leads, identified the suspect as 30-year-old Brayam Chirinos. Chirinos was the victim’s roommate.
The following morning, on December 3, 2025, around 9:15 a.m., with assistance of the San Francisco Police Citywide Plain Clothes Unit and Real Time Investigation Center, Chirinos was located in San Franciso driving the victim’s vehicle. He was arrested without incident and booked into Santa Rita Jail on one count of homicide. The motive remains under investigation.
Chrinos has an extensive criminal history, including prior arrests for DUI, assault, domestic violence, and false imprisonment in both Florida and Texas. He also has an active warrant out of Florida for battery and violation of probation.
“I want to thank our detectives for their swift work in identifying and locating the suspect,” said Livermore Police Chief Jeramy Young. “I would also like to thank San Francisco Police for their assistance. This suspect would not be in custody without their efforts and strong partnership.”
No additional information will be released at this time, as the case has been turned over to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office for charging.
The Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau will release the identity of the victim once next of kin has been notified.
