We’ve done it again! Livermore has been named one of the safest suburbs in America - ranking #2 in California and #37 nationwide in a new 2025 study by SmartAsset.

This ranking looked at 360 suburbs across the U.S. analyzing:

Violent crime & property crime rates

Motor vehicle fatalities

Drug overdose deaths

Excessive drinking rates

The data came from the FBI’s 2023 Uniform Crime Reporting Database, the U.S. Census Bureau, and the University of Wisconsin’s County Health Rankings & Roadmap project.

What this means: Livermore’s recognition is a reflection of our strong community partnerships and the dedication of every officer and staff member who works to keep our city safe.
