As more kids ride bicycles, e-bikes, and e-scooters, it’s important to know the rules of the road to keep everyone safe. Did you know?

Key Safety Tips:

- Helmet Required: Under California law, kids under 18 must wear a helmet when riding a bike, e-bike, or e-scooter.

- Know the Rules: Different types of bikes and scooters have different laws—not all can be ridden on sidewalks.

- Know Your Ride: Certain types are considered off road motorcycles, not E-Bikes by definition and are not street legal such as the Siron.

- Age-Appropriate Riding: Know the California laws regarding e-bike classifications and age restrictions to ensure your child is riding an appropriate vehicle.

- Be Visible: Use lights and bright clothing, especially at night.

- No Distractions: No texting or headphones while riding.

- Follow the Speed Limit: E-scooters can’t exceed 15 mph.

- Education: Discuss the importance of following traffic rules, being vigilant, and understanding the unique challenges of riding e-bikes, such as increased speed and acceleration.
