In early August, Livermore Police’s Crime Prevention Unit received information that two people were in possession of several stolen firearms and were attempting to sell them.
Over several weeks, the Crime Prevention Unit authored and served several search warrants, including at a home and an encampment in Livermore as well as at a home in Stockton.
The Crime Prevention Unit recovered 15 stolen firearms, multiple rounds of ammunition, numerous high-capacity magazines, precursor parts to manufacture firearms, 17 stolen bicycles, and a pound of methamphetamine.
The Crime Prevention Unit linked most of the stolen firearms to two residential burglaries that occurred in Livermore this summer. Livermore Police is in the process of returning the stolen property to the rightful owners.
