On July 17, 2024, Livermore Police responded to a report of a shooting between two vehicles, a white Ford F-150 and a blue Honda Civic, in the 600 block of Rincon Avenue.
After talking to witnesses, police learned the F-150 had been following the blue Honda around Ora Street and Rincon Avenue. At the intersection, a passenger in the F-150 shot multiple rounds at the Honda Civic with at least one round hitting the Civic. No one was injured.
Livermore Police’s Criminal Investigations Bureau took over the investigation and identified 26-year-old Arturo Morales as the driver of the suspect’s vehicle. Police believe the shooting is gang-related.
On August 14, 2024, Morales was arrested at his home in Livermore. Police executed a search warrant on Morales’s home and recovered a 9mm handgun as well as ammunition.
Due to his direct involvement in the crime, Morales was charged with shooting at an occupied vehicle, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, and permitting another to shoot from a vehicle.
